Ups and Downs

Well darn. I was part of the Big Huge Layoffs that happened last week. Thats a total bummer. But hey, freelance is picking up a bit, and that's no small thing in today's economy. As lame as lay-offs are, there are a few upsides to it. For starters I had to go ahead and bite the bullet and get myself a new laptop to work on, and it is a beauty. A maximum of 8GB of RAM, a decent graphics card, and widescreen to boot!

Another upside is that I can share all this art I did for the RPG that will, in all probability, never see the light of day. I shed a single tear for this awesome game that could have been. (actually on this second image those motion studies are old, pre-bighuge).

Thanks to everyone reading, and another thanks to everyone who has called to check up on how I'm doing. Don't worry guys, I'm sure that the next batch of good things is only just around the corner!

Thats too bad man, but at least you got some sweet designs out of it. It all looks killer.

That definitely stinks =/ Still, really nice work as always, very inspirational. =)

I love the tree designs! Sucks about the job loss, though. This economy just keeps dipping lower, it seems.

matt - thanks man, im more or less happy with this stuff. Its nice to see it all at once side by side!

Shannon - Well, its a strange story that involves an air-purifier with a built-in air ionizer. Pro-tip: Keep those things AWAY from computers, the consequences are not obvious, but are devastating.

Kyler - Woot!

Rich - Thanks bud, always fun to check out the ink drawings you've been working up as well!

Anna - I agree about the stink-factor. Thanks!

Trish - Those trees were the first thing I did, ha! My "trial-run" in a sense. Yeah eff this economy.

Solid, solid work here man. Inspiring to say the least. I know, layoffs do suck, but use this opportunity to reach even higher. Good luck man.

Dude, I just saw the article on Kotaku, showing off all your sweet work (which I'm sure you already knew about), but that’s awesome! Good free publicity, hopefully someone sees it!

Layoffs are the pits, dude. Screw it, man - there's always a positive side - the portfolio is only going to get thicker, and thicker, and thicker, until it is the thickiest.

Huge fan, btw.
